Originating in ancient India, Vastu shastra (Sanskrit: वास्तु शास्त्र, vāstu śāstra – literally "science of architecture") is a traditional Hindu system of architecture based on ancient texts that describe principles of design, layout, measurements, ground preparation, space arrangement, and spatial geometry. The designs aim to integrate architecture with nature, the relative functions of various parts of the structure, and ancient beliefs utilising geometric patterns (yantra), symmetry, and directional alignments.
At Sapras, we seamlessly integrate Vastu principles into contemporary design. Our projects beautifully marry tradition with modern aesthetics, creating spaces that are not only visually stunning but also aligned with the age-old principles of Vastu Shastra.

Before and After
Explore how each room in your home can benefit from Vastu-compliant design. From bedrooms to kitchens, our architects follow specific Vastu guidelines to enhance the harmony and functionality of every space
Orientation and Directions
Vastu emphasizes the importance of the cardinal directions (North, South, East, West) in designing and positioning a building. The main entrance and important rooms should ideally face favorable directions to harness positive energy.
Elemental Balance
Vastu associates each direction with one of the five elements—earth, water, fire, air, and space. A well-balanced distribution of these elements within a space is believed to create harmony. For example, the kitchen is associated with the fire element, so it is often recommended in the southeast.
Entrance and Threshold
The main entrance or doorway is considered a crucial aspect in Vastu. It is recommended that the entrance be well-lit, welcoming, and free from obstacles. The energy entering through the entrance sets the tone for the entire space.
Room Placement and Functionality
Different rooms in a house have specific recommended placements based on their functions. For example, the master bedroom is often recommended in the southwest for stability and the children's room in the northwest for creativity and a positive mindset.
Balance of Energy (Vastu Purusha Mandala)
Vastu Purusha Mandala is a cosmic energy grid that divides a building into various zones, each associated with a deity and a specific purpose. The central area is considered sacred, and maintaining a balance in the overall layout is believed to ensure positive energy flow.
